How does Florida Vacation Auction work?

Florida Vacation Auction allows you to plan your next Sunshine State escape and save money while doing it. First, you can bid on one of our auctions, where savings can be as much as 80%. Or, you can simply select the special Buy Direct offers and go straight to a travel supplier's Web site to book your Florida hotel, resort, or attraction.

Do I need to register for anything?

Each week new auctions and special offers will appear on our site that you can view without registering. However, only registered members can bid on auctions. We do encourage you to register to receive our weekly e-newsletters and information from Visit Florida, the State of Florida's Official Tourism Industry Marketing Corporation.

Can I place a bid even if I don't have an email address?

At this time, no. You must have an email address to participate in the auction process. It is necessary for you to have an email address in order to receive communications in the event you have been outbid or if you are the winning bidder.

Can I see how many other people are bidding against me?

Are there any fees?

There is no cost to view auction listings, register or bid…you only pay your final bid price if you win an auction.

Are there any extra fees on my winning bid?

NO! Your winning bid is inclusive of all taxes and is the final cost. In some instances, there are fees that you will be responsible for such as port charges or immigration fees that we can not collect. However, those additional requirements will be clearly explained in the listings.

If I win an auction, when is my credit card charged?

Charges are billed to the winner's credit card immediately upon the conclusion of an auction.

If I am the only bidder, will I pay the minimum bid I placed or the maximum?

You will only be charged the minimum amount.

If my credit card is declined, what other payment options are available?

Currently, the only option is to use another credit card.

I have won my auction, what happens now?

You will be issued a voucher from Florida Vacation Auction with details and information on your trip. This will include instructions on making reservations. You will need to make your reservations with the travel supplier prior to redeeming your voucher with them.

How long do I have to use my voucher?

It will vary, starting with a minimum 90 days after the end of the auction. Some vouchers may include black out dates and we recommend you contact the travel supplier as soon as you know your travel dates to make reservations. All hotel reservations will be based on availability.

Can I give my voucher to someone else as a gift or do I have to use it myself?

Yes, they can be gifted but the winner will need to contact us so we can include the recipient name in our records for reservation verification with the supplier (resort, attraction, etc).

What if I do not want to participate in an auction? Can I still take advantage of the packages offered?

Absolutely! You simply need to click on our Buy Direct option. This will take you straight to the suppliers Web site where you can book your travel plans and find the same special offers and packages available.

How can I learn what auctions are available?

You can view our site and search for auction listings by location, experience (spa, golf, family, etc.), or budget. You can also sign up for our e-newsletter or subscribe to our RSS feed for previews and updates on all of our great auction listings.

Can you help me with airline reservations?

We currently do not offer any airline reservation services.

Do you have listings in other states?

Not at this time.
